Jacco de Weerd
Meet with Jacco de WeerdI am a lecturer in marketing, research, and education. My background is in business economics and educational science, combined with broad experience as an entrepreneur and trainer. I have worked in hospitality, founded a restaurant and a festival catering business, and developed initiatives focused on measuring 21st century skills. For over 20 years, I led a minor in entrepreneurship, where I guided students in developing and launching their own ventures. I continue to support (starting) entrepreneurs and expect to be involved in this area again in the near future.Currently, I am involved in the Maker Studio, where I explore hands-on making as a way to develop a deeper understanding of color, form, and texture in the physical world. In my teaching, I emphasize critical thinking, research skills, and translating ideas into practice. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, gastronomy, nature, history, and working on DIY projects.
