Growing up surrounded by fabrics and sewing supplies, as the daughter of a tailor and a creative mother, I have been working with materials, techniques and making since childhood. After completing my training as a Visual Arts and Design Teacher, my path took me through different worlds of Art & Design, the creative industry and higher education. Over the years, these experiences have become part of one artistic practice in which making, researching and education naturally meet. As an artist, I am interested in what materials, images and stories can reveal when we give them time and attention. I let myself be guided by what calls to me, moves me and invites further exploration. My work is rooted in narrative, meaning, encounter and connection. Within education, my artistic practice takes another form. I listen, ask questions and create space for exploration. I create space in which students can discover that their own thinking matters. Rather than showing them where to go, I invite them to listen to their own process, make, experiment, question and discover what wants to emerge.
